Seems many ulcer patients don't want to miss out on cakes at parties. So you are interested in that birthday or wedding cake. It may not be for you. Don't say a little won't do any harm. You don't want that pain.

Peptic ulcer patients should please avoid eating cake. Just look at the list of ingredients above. There is no way some of these ingredients are not contraindicated in ulcers. Worse still, a combination of two or more chemicals can react to form another compound. The resulting compounds can be more toxic than their parents compounds. Let us look at some that are obvious.

There is a high amount of sugar in cakes. And high sugar in the body blocks blood flow to the extremities including the stomach. Reducing blood flow to body parts results in delay in wound healing and makes it easy to get injured.

Butter or oil or margarine should be eaten in moderation. Excess of these will result in ulcer pain. In fact, avoiding high fat, salty, processed foods may help relieve symptoms in people with stomach ulcers. Cake falls into this category.
