Please for your consumption, the normal colour of urine is not white or colourless. It is pale yellow to close to clear colour. This colour is due to the hemoglobin breakdown releasing waste material that has colour. Since the waste is released from the urine, it gives the urine its colour. The true colour of urine is urochrome.
Merely looking at your urine as it is coming out of your body may give a false colour. Normal urine coming from the body may seem clear and colourless. However, that same urine in a white cup or transparent glass will show the urochrome colour. However, when the colour of urine coming out of the body is coloured, it shows something is not right.
Urine colour can change to so many colours. The colour change is due to either the food we eat, disease or medications. Majority of cases are not a cause for alarm. However, knowing them can help predict what is wrong.
