HB12 is a blood tonic. The name is derived from its composition of hemoglobin (H) and vitamin B12. It is made by Ecomed pharma ltd, Ogun State and distributed by United African laboratory Ltd. The license is held by Kristine laboratories, England.

Iron is present in every cell of the body. One of the main categories in which it is found is Hemoglobin. Its function is to absorb oxygen from the lungs and distribute it along the body to the vital cells. It is responsible for the red color of blood. Deficiency of Hemoglobin in the body gives rise to anemia.

Vitamin B12, an anti-pernicious factor, is essential for blood synthesis.
HB 12 is for the effective treatment and prevention of anemia. It provides iron in the form of Hemoglobin and Vitamin B12 in the form of Cyanocobalamin. It is a readily assimilated blood forming syrup to which valuable tonic and nutritive properties have been added. It is a restorative of blood corpuscles.
It is important to continue taking this preparation for at least three months and if necessary to resume taking it should symptoms appear. It may be taken as a restorative tonic in run-down conditions and in convalescence.

Nutritional Information And Composition Of HB12
Each teaspoonful (5ml) contains:
Hemoglobin 5%w/v (Providing 18 Amino Acid ds and Iron)
Amino Acid Chelated Iron 0.3%w/v (Providing amino acid and 4mg of elemental iron) Cyanocobalamin 0.0004%w/v (Providing Vitamin B12)
Malt 2%w/v

Indications Of HB12
Malnutrition, inadequate iron intake due to bad diet, pregnancy, anemia following surgical operations, convalescence, physical depression, influenza, vegetarian diet, malabsorption syndromes, tapeworm infestation.
Dosage And Direction Of HB12
Unless otherwise recommended by your medical doctor
Adults:
2 teaspoon four times daily
children:
5-12 years 1 teaspoonful four times daily.
2-5 years 1 teaspoonful twice daily.
HB 12 may be taken undiluted or mixed with water, preferably before a meal.
