Microbiologist may want to become a pharmacist. Microbiology and pharmacy are closely related but two different disciplines.

Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, archaea, fungi and protozoa. This discipline includes fundamental research on the biochemistry, physiology, cell biology, ecology, evolution and clinical aspects of microorganisms, including the host response to these agents.

Pharmacy is the clinical health science that links medical science with chemistry and it is charged with the discovery, production, disposal, safe and effective use, and control of medications and drugs.
Can A Microbiologist Become A Pharmacist
No! But in Nigeria, you can apply for direct entry (DE) to study pharmacy. So you cannot be a pharmacist with a Microbiology degree, but it will definitely make it easier for you to be one. Easier doesn’t mean easy.
You will find certain courses in pharmacy to be less challenging such as fundamental microbiology or physiology or Pharmacology since the Microbiology degree should equip you with the knowledge in these areas. But other areas such as anatomy, medical practices, patient, etc will still require you to learn.
How To Become A Pharmacist With Microbiology Degree
Option One
1. Find the school that will accept the degree and your grade. Some schools require a minimum of 2.2 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) and one o'level result with five credits in relevant subjects (mathematics, English language, biology, physics and chemistry).
2. Buy joint admission and matriculation board (JAMB) direct entry (DE) form.
3. Fill the details including the school you want and submit to JAMB
3. Write admission examination for the school (not all school)
4. Wait for the admission cut off mark for the school.
Note: you will start from year two
Option Two
1. Find the school o'level result requirements and make sure you have it. Some schools require a minimum of one o'level result with five credits in relevant subjects (mathematics, English language, biology, physics and chemistry).

2. Buy JAMB unitary tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) form.
2. Write UTME
3. Wait for the school cut off mark for UTME.
4. If you pass, buy a post UTME form.
5. Write post UTME.
6. Wait for the admission cut off mark and admission.
Note: you will start from year one.
