Can A Child Use Neofylin
Neofylin contains chlorpheniramine maleate. The world health organisation (WHO) had advised parents to desist from giving cough syrup to children below 2 years of age. According to WHO, the risk outweighs the benefits. However, Neofylin cough syrup contains very low amounts of chlorpheniramine, hoping this strength won't do harm to children.
So far so good, many children in Nigeria receive cough syrups especially those with chlorpheniramine with no evidence of adverse effects. However, giving Neofylin to children even though there are children doses doesn't make it right.
