Cyproheptadine Weight Gain
Cyproheptadine is a first-generation antihistamine with additional anticholinergic, antiserotonergic, and local anesthetic properties. It is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

In theory, cyproheptadine may stimulate appetite by raising levels of IGF-1 and acting on the area of your brain that controls appetite and food intake. Drowsiness was a common transient side effect of cyproheptadine. This is due to stimulation of growth hormone secretion by deep sleep induction.
