Pharmacy Programme In Enugu State University Of Science And Technology (ESUT)

The Enugu state university of science and technology (ESUT) is a tertiary institution that began as ASUTECH on July 30, 1980. The name change took effect with the birth of Enugu state from Anambra state in 1991.

Pharmacy In ESUT

Pharmacy in ESUT is very new. So therefore, information about the programme is still not stable. ESUT pharmacy accepts three modes of admission. They are joint admission and matriculation board (JAMB) unitary tertiary matriculation examination (UTME), direct entry and pre-degree.

JAMB UTME

Candidates who wish to study pharmacy in ESUT must possess five credit passes in English language, physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics at not more than two sitting. The UTME cut off mark is 200. Screening is done online. Candidates are not required to appear for a physical screening or aptitude test. Application form is ₦2000.

ESUT only writes Use of English and Mathematics for all Faculties. Pages 1-37 is the use of English Language and pages 38-97 is Mathematics all under 30 minutes.

Direct Entry (DE)

Applicants who wish to study pharmacy in ESUT must in addition to JAMB UTME requirements acquire a good grade from a relevant degree. The joint university preliminary examination board (JUPEB) programme in ESUT cost ₦15000 for the form. The programme runs for two semesters of one session. Was unable to find the school fees.

Pre-degree

The ESUT pre-degree programme is made of two semesters from a session. The applicants must meet JAMB UTME requirements. Application form is ₦5800. The programme is at the Nsukka campus. School fees are ₦74700.

Undergraduate Pharmacy Student

Admitted students are to pay an acceptance fee of ₦26000. Now, year one to final year are expected to pay ₦124900 each year. Then, ESUT law and medical students pay a one time development levy. I guess pharmacy will not be an exception although I was not able to find out. Just to give a rough estimate of how much it will be, MBBS pays ₦300000. Then late fee payment is ₦10000.

Accomodation

ESUT has accomodation for both new and old students. New students are accommodated at the agbani campus of the university. Agbani town has several hostels available for students. Pre-degree students are also given accommodation during registration. The hostel fee is ₦20000 for a year.
