Reading Books Does Not Cause Madness If Done In Healthy Way
Life has improved over the years because of the sacrifice of some who studied. From all walks of life, they read books, studied materials and observe nature to see how to improve life. Some were professors in their field while others never got a chance to attend formal education. But they all have something in common. They did something someone else have not done. But they never got mad.
Reading is the easiest way to study. It removes many barriers. A person in Nigeria can study the political atmosphere in the Americas from reading books about the American political sphere. On the other hand, a person living in America can easily study about it by mere interaction with those in the political class. But they will both achieve something; learn about American politics. But how much both know will determine by how much they read or listen to what others say.

To learn so much from reading will require reading for a long time. It will take more than one lifetime to read all the books in this world assuming there is no rest or eating time. How much can be studied rest in how much time is allocated to it and how fast the person can understand what is read. The question now is can too much reading cause madness?
This question is the idea of lazy readers. They try to attribute any madness from an intelligent person to too much reading. Whenever a student goes mad, they say it is a hard drug if the student is not academically sound or too much reading if the student was good at academic. This idea is affecting so many as they tend to limit it claiming they are protecting their health.
Reading cannot cause madness. Infact, it helps to build a person intellectually. It helps people to develop the world in various ways. However, there is an element of truth in what those people said about too much reading. This can give an idea how to handle it.

| Reading and madness |
Reading is stressful. It drains the brain just like other physical activities. It causes mental stress. Just like a person needs rest from physical activity, reading requires the same. Unfortunately, many readers often neglect their daily needs and health. A good example is a story in a brighter Grammar book where sir Isaac Newton forgot his food because he was cracking a puzzle. His friend came in and ate the food to the detriment of the scientist who got to find out very late.
Lifestyle That Affect Readers
To be able to study effectively without punishing the brain, a reader needs to balance in life. Their lifestyle must be sound in all ways. This is the only reason to help the brain. Below are some of the lifestyles that affect the brain, especially of readers.
Social Life
Most readers are introverted except few. They lock themselves up in isolation. They don't create time for friends and family. They are disoriented in public and hid their faces in black glasses. They feel neglected and want people to come chasing them like stars. They may have no natural talent. To beat the crowd and craze for that attention, they struggle to know and hope those things will bring along fame and social life. Some find out late that that is not the solution.
House Chores
House chores are equally neglected because there is no time to arrange the house. An unkempt room can bring depression unknown to the owner. They feel so lazy to take 5 minutes to clear up the room. This can also affect their personal hygiene which inturn affects their health.
Fear
There are some books that are not good to read. Some are horror and can put fear of the unknown in the mind of the reader. That fear can cause depression. A common fear that grip students are reading so many materials in a short time due to examinations.
Exercise
Time for exercise is zero. Some say to themselves that reading is part of exercise. So, every other type of exercise is neglected.
Diet
This is by far the most important thing. Many readers are from poor background. They want to read, make a good grade, get a good job from the result and escape poverty for life. They are at it with all they have. With not enough money to buy food and no time to cook and eat, they suffer from the brain from nutrients. This can allow the brain to suffer and give up.
Stress
Too much of everything is bad. Reading for a long time without rest is bad. Stress can lead to mental health issues. A simple sign is reading the same line several times without comprehension.

Types Of Reading
To be able to plan how to read and the right time, it is good to differentiate between the two types of reading.
Recreation
This is reading books you like and enjoy. It is not under compulsion and no time frame. You read at your own pace. The brain picks up information it feels are useful and disregard the rest of it.
Intentional
This reading is to know something never known before. It can have a deadline. It is normally for examination.
One good idea of reading is to read what you like with passion, coupled with exercise and good food. There is nothing like too much reading. Constant reading does not cause madness or related to it. What happen is those who neglect their health may suffer me talk health issue reading or not.
