It's main objective was to unify Nigeria and train youths to be good citizens of the country and beyond. All the activities laid down by the founding fathers saw to this objective. The portal is open to both recruiters and corp members. For recruiters, they need to create an account or profile. All they need to do is click on register link. After imputing their details, they will be required to verify their account with their mail. A link from their mail will allow them create the account. Successful completion of the registration is sent to their mail including login details. To start recruiting, they will need to update their company profile. Upon successful completion of the information, they can always request for job opening or position from potential employee.
For corps members, you need to create an account or your own profile. Update your details, upload your curriculum vitae in PDF format, upload your passport size photograph, upload your NYSC video curriculum vitae URL and your documents. If the process is successful, you can see list of job opening and apply with just a click. No need to send any application letter as the recruiter will see every of your details from their own side. Registration With NYSC Job

Visit their official website www.nyscjobs.org. For those that are knowledgeable about the internet, this site is not the official NYSC registration portal for service hence it does not have https. The site will open with a link to register. Click on the registration link. It will open a page to include your email and password. A confirmation mail will be sent to your email you use in registration. Visit your email to get the mail. Click on the link to continue with registration. Another mail containing your login details will be mailed to your email. Keep your login details safe.
Login and enter your personal or demographic data's in the space provided. Click on the drop down arrow for drop down menu to complete some details for those that have it. Click on next link at the bottom of the page to go to the next page where you will have to update more information. However, if you think an important information was wrong or missed on the previous page, click on the previous link at the bottom of the page to enable you edit it.

The next page is to upload a short video of you presenting your CV. You can skip this part for now but is is necessary. You can even apply to job openings after completing the process without it. You can do a personal video and upload to the site. However, it may not meet up to standard. So it is advisable you send it to them through email or Whatsapp for editing before updating it in the site. Sending it to them also allow them to upload it personally to the video CV bank.

Requirements For video CV URL

To create a killer video of yourself meeting all their requirements, you need a good smartphone with good camera, a phone tripod stand, good lighting and beautiful environment. The phone must be in portrait mode (horizontal). The camera setting must be set to low quality. This is to reduce the resolution and at the end the file size. The video length must not be more than 30 seconds and must be less than 14 MB. The environment must be tidy and neat. Free or devoid of noise and moving objects. Dress Code

Your dressing must be of clean NYSC created vest and a well iron khaki which is optional. You must not use NYSC cap. The NYSC belt, khaki trouser, socks and shoes are not needed since the video is from stomach up. No neck chains and ear rings for guys. For girls, no neck chains and no big ear rings. Moderation is key. Hair cut for male should be trim and female hairstyle should be formal/official.

Presentation In The NYSC CV URL Video

What is required of you is to present yourself with this short video. All you need to do is to rehearse three short sentences that will sell you to potential employers. During the video, your posture matters. You must look straight to the camera. The presentation should not be distracted with mannerism or break words. To avoid this problem, write out your work out. Do not read from any book during the presentation. Cram the work and say it severally out loud to your friends while timing yourself. Present it with confidence. When you are done, you can present it to the camera.
Begin with a greeting and brief introduction about yourself. The three sentences should be about your profession and what makes you unique from other job applicants jostling for same position as yours. At the end, add a thank you to conclude. It is advise never to use phrase like 'thanks.' If you have a product to showcase as an entrepreneur, you can bring it into view within some few seconds during the video while talking about it. However, let it be brief.

Sending Video

After selecting just one of the video, you should send it via WhatsApp to 07065245969 or email at nyscvideocv@gmail.com any time of the day. The following details should be attach with the video;

If the video was sent to the WhatsApp number, it should be sent alone. A second message with the above details should then be sent with it. However, sending with email does not require such process. It can be added as a file. You can send video of others too with details using same email or Whatsapp phone number.

After inserting the NYSC video CV link in the portal, you can then click on proceed. The next page is to upload your passport. This stage is very difficult. Passport size, image format and height and width are all specified. Any slight difference in the above will make the image not to be uploaded. You can download your passport size photo from your NYSC portal as some of the passport requirements are same. However, you can use online image editor to specify all those requirements and download the file. Upload it into the portal. If it is successful, you can proceed by clicking on the proceed link.
The next page is your educational qualification. The drop down menu of each page gives you so many options. Foreign train graduate can type in their information on the portal. Click on proceed.
The next page gives you areas to input your employment history. You can input as many as they are.
With a click on proceed, the next page will take you to where you will provide the certification you have gain over the year.
Finally, upload all your documents. This is the last page and require you to upload your certificate especially your CV.

Job Application Using NYSC Job Portal

A list of recent opening is listed in the portal. Click on any of them to give you a brief description of the job offer. If you are interested, a simple click on the apply now will send your data's to the recruiter. A thank you message is displayed after every application. You will also received an email confirmation. Qualified candidates will be contacted.
