Indication Of Menthodex Cough Mixture

Menthodex cough is used for the relief of colds, sore throats, irritating and chesty coughs. Menthol acts as flavouring and helps to relieve symptoms of catarrh.

Composition Of Menthodex Cough Syrup

Each 10ml of menthodex cough syrup contains:

Ammonium Chloride BP 200 mg,

Sodium Citrate BP 100 mg,

mentol 15.5mg and

Squill Tincture 0.002 ml

Excipients are sucrose, glucose, ethanol and E218.

Uses Of Menthodex Cough Mixture

Contains expectorant and demulcent agents for the treatment of coughs and colds. It makes the cough more productive by loosening tenacious bronchial mucous. It combats the congestive symptoms that frequently accompany coughs and colds and reduces bronchial and nasal congestion.

Dosage Of Menthodex Cough Syrup

Adults: two 5 ml spoonfuls

Children (7-14 years): one 5 ml spoonful

These doses must be repeated three times a day and at bedtime.

Menthodex Cough Syrup And Pregnancy

Menthodex cough mixture should be avoided in pregnancy. This is because it contains ethanol (alcohol). Ethanol is contraindicated in pregnancy. There is no known safe limit or level for ethanol.

Except that, there is no known contraindications, side effects and warning.

Does Menthodex Make User Drowsy

When used according to directions, it is non drowsy. It does not contain any ingredients with a drowsy effect. However, it contains alcohol. Overdose can cause one to be tipsy.
