List Of Federal University Offering Pharmacy Programme In Nigeria
There are many federal universities in Nigeria. However, very few offer pharmacy programmes. They either award a bachelor of pharmacy (B Pharm) or doctor of pharmacy (pharmD) degree for five or six years respectively. Federal university To run a pharmacy faculty is expensive. Very expensive. That is why it took many federal universities years to roll out the programme. This also applies to state owned universities. And with what is on ground now, only four private universities have been approved in Nigeria. And most of them did not start the program with the founding of the school. However, there are some universities currently running the programme and yet to get accreditation. Approval of the school of pharmacy comes from the national university commission (NUC) and the pharmacists council of Nigeria (PCN). There is temporary and permanent accreditation.
