How To Redeploy/Relocate From One State To Another During NYSC

Call up letter is a document that contains vital information like state deployed to for the national youth service corps (NYSC) programme. Very many prospective corp members get a state they never bargained for. However, some got to like their state of their service year.
For those who are still interested in changing their state of deployment, there are two ways it can be done. Application for relocation/redeployment is no guarantee of approval from NYSC. There are criteria for approval.

Reasons For Redeployment/Relocation

Not every reason you give will be approved. The only reason NYSC will consider your application for redeployment/relocation is;
1. Heath ground
2. Marriage (females only)
3. Pregnancy (females only)
4. Security
5. Director General (DG) directives
The above reasons are legal. However, CM do formulate the reasons above when they still wish to redeploy/relocate and their reasons will not be approved. For example, a CM who failed to do clearance in two consecutive months may be punished by service extension if it happens again in the third month. To avoid such pitfalls, you can redeploy/relocate. Such a move will render the two months invalid and you can continue your service.

How To Apply For Redeployment/Relocation
Process of redeployment and relocation during NYSC
Sample of redeployment/relocation form

You can't apply for redeployment before NYSC orientation camp. You can start processing for redeployment/relocation in camp or after camp.

Redeployment/Relocation In Camp

Redeployment/relocation is possible after swearing in ceremony. It involves getting redeployment/relocation form from the rightful camp officials. The form is filled by the corp member (CM). The form states the reason for redeployment and relocation and the name of the file attached as proof of evidence. The form is submitted together with an application letter and proof of evidence to the right camp officials.
This process is open until the last Friday of the camp. All those who applied will be notified to check their dashboard on the 21st day of camp to print their new call up letter. Those who did not get it have to face the fact that their application was not approved. They have to collect their posting letter for their place of primary assignment (PPA) for that state.
Those who got their own will have to go to their new state for documentation. They will have to fill all those forms filled during the camp again. If they have a PPA in mind, they can submit a request letter from that place to the NYSC State Secretariat. If not, they will be posted to the few available slots. The place may not really be good because all those who have been posted before have gotten good places.
Note that foreign trained Corps members with pending camp verification can neither be relocated nor posted for primary assignment.

Redeployment/Relocation After Orientation Camp

If after camping and something came up, you have until the end of your service year to redeploy/relocate. It is done online. After two days of leaving camp, a link for relocation will appear on NYSC portal dashboard. Clicking on the link will take you to a form that should be filled correctly. In it, you are to state reason for redeployment and relocation. Upload relevant documents to backup your claim. Wait for approval from NYSC through short message service (SMS) or email.
If you receive an approval message or mail, log on to the portal. Select 'manage relocation.' It will reroute you to a remita page where you will generate a RRR number. This is sent to your email. You can take this number to any bank to make payment or use your bank automated teller machine (ATM) card to make a payment online.
