Each hard gelatin capsule contains:
Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium USP 200 mg
Glucosamine Hydrochloride USP 250 mg
Mechanism Of Action
Glucosamine HCI- Glucosamine is an amino sugar and a prominent precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids. Oral glucosamine is commonly used for the treatments of osteoarthritis. Since glucosamine is a precursor for glycosaminoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans are a major component of joint cartilage, supplemental glucosamine may help to rebuild cartilage and treat arthritis.

It's used as a therapy for osteoarthritis appears safe, but there is conflicting evidence as to its effectiveness with more recent studies showing Limited to no clinical benefit of use. In the United States, glucosamine is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for medical use in humans.
Since glucosamine is classified as a dietary supplement safety and formulation are solely the responsibility of the manufacturer, evidence of safety and efficacy is not required as long as it is not advertised as a treatment for a medical condition.
Pharmacokinetics
Glucosamine HCI - After oral administration, the total bioavailability of Glucosamine following first pass metabolism was found to be 26%. Intramuscular bioavailability was noted to be approximately 96%. After the initial period of absorption, the drug is distributed by the blood stream and the major sites of distribution were the liver, kidneys and articular cartilage.
Chondroitin Sulfate-Pharmacokinetic studies performed on humans and experimental animals after oral administration of chondroitin Sulfate revealed that it can be absorbed orally. Chondroitin Sulfate shows first-order kinetics up to single doses of 3,000 mg. Multiple doses of 800 mg in patients with osteoarthritis do not alter the kinetics of chondroitin Sulfate.
The bioavailability of chondroitin Sulfate ranges from 15 to 24% of the orally administered dose. More particularly, on the articular tissue, chondroitin Sulfate is not rapidly absorbed in the gastro-intestinal tract and a high content of labeled chondroitin Sulfate is found in the synovial fluid and cartilage.
Indications Of Arthocare

Since it stimulates biosynthesis of cartilage and joint substances such as Hyaluronic acids, Arthocare, a complete chondroprotective is an approach of choice in osteoarthritis. It is also indicated for a number of joint related ailments which include; Rheumatoid arthritis, Fractures, Low backache, Ankylosing spondylitis, Arthritis due to sport injury/active lifestyle and Osteosclerosis.

For Uveitis, that is an inflammatory disease of the iris and focusing muscle. It is useful also in preventing changes in the vitreous humor (substance within the eye) and thus protecting the retina from release.
Warnings And Precautions
Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or who plan to become pregnant and children should not take these supplements. Glucosamine is an amino sugar so people who have diabetes should check their blood sugar more often if they take this supplement. If you are taking Chondroitin Sulfate and a blood-thinning medication, have your blood-clotting prothrombin (protein produced in the liver) time checked more often.
This supplement may contain components similar to the blood-thinning drug heparin. This combination could increase the risk of bleeding. If you are allergic to shellfish, talk to your medical doctor before taking Glucosamine.
