Benzylpenicillin potassium 10,000 I.U

Action

Penicillin skin ointments are effective against all microorganisms susceptible to Penicillin. Maximal concentration of Penicillin at the site of infections is reached by topical application, which could not be achieved by general treatment (oral or parenteral). The process of healing is accelerated by relatively small amounts of Penicillin.

Therapeutic Indications Of Penicillin Skin Ointment

Furunculi, burns, ulcers, infected, wounds, abscess, impetigo, intertrigo, secondary infected eczema, as well as in the prevention of infections.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Penicillin.

Side Effects Of Penicillin Skin Oitment

Penicillin ointments applied in optimal amounts are relatively well tolerated. Allergic reactions (exanthema, rash or urticaria) may occur at site of application, but they will disappear after the cessation of the therapy.

Dosage And Administration Of Penicillin Skin Oitment

Skin Ointment: apply in a thin layer to the affected area 2-3 times daily. Cover with a sterile dressing in order to avoid contamination of the affected area.
