Olive Oil Kill Scabies

Some oils have been shown to be effective against scabies but not olive oil. Olive oil is the natural oil extracted from olives, the fruit of the olive tree.

If you're infected with scabies, the mites burrow under your skin to live and lay their eggs. This causes intense itching, not because of the burrowing activity of the mite, but because of your immune system's response to the mites' presence, explains PubMed Health.

Olive Oil Kill Scabies

About 14% of the oil is saturated fat, whereas 11% is polyunsaturated, such as omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. But the predominant fatty acid in olive oil is a monounsaturated fat called oleic acid, making up 73% of the total oil content. It contains anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antitoxin.

Olive Oil does not kill scabies. However, it is mixed with other oils used in killing scabies. It works as carrier oils for the essentials and also helps to smother the scabies mite. Studies suggest that oleic acid reduces inflammation.
