Can You Use Ruzu Herbal Bitters With Other Drugs

Ruzu herbal bitters (RHB) is a poly-herbal preparation that is widely taken in Nigeria. RHB is an aqueous preparation of Curculigo pilosa root (40%), Uvaria chamae stem (30%) and Citrullus colocynthis bark (40%). RHB is claimed for the management/treatment of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, infection and infertility among others including fibroid.

Ruzu Herbal Bitters significantly decreased the dissolution of glibenclamide tablets at gastrointestinal pH of 6.8. This could reflect on in vivo bioavailability performance with potential for causing sub-therapeutic levels of glibenclamide in vivo. Ruzu bitters' effect on other drugs may follow the same principle.

Orthodox drugs undergo strict clinical trials. These trials study the effect of the drug on the disease, the person and other substances which include drugs. Unfortunately there are no single clinical trials that can undergo all drug combinations trials.
