The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a programme set up by the Nigerian government to involve Nigerian graduates in nation building and the development of the country. It consists of four cardinal programme which are; 1. NYSC orientation camp which begins the programme and last for three weeks NYSC unpaid allowance 2. Place of primary assignment (PPA) that require a corp member to be posted to a place where he or she will serve for about ten months 3. Community development service (CDS) whereby the corp member contribute to the development of the community in group or using individual project 4. Passing out parade and winding up in which the corp member is given NYSC certificate The programme spans across a twelve months period. Every corp member is entitled to three main allowances.
