However, the tin is composed of thin metal with a wide mouth and cover seal. Is there another difference between them apart from the container? Let us find out.

Difference Between Nixoderm Tube And Nixoderm Tin

From the available information, they both contain the same active pharmaceutical ingredients at the same strength. The ingredients include;

Benzoic acid 6%

Titanium dioxide 1%

Salicylic acid 2.5%

Precipitated sulfur 4.6%

During use, the tube rubs in with no trace making it ideal for day and night use. However, the tin leaves a lot of traces with sulfur odor. This could mean it is more suitable for night use to avoid questions during the day. What could make such a huge difference? The answer is in their base.

The base used in making nixoderm tube is a perfumed emollient based. This makes it rubs in without trace. Also, the odor is masked with perfume. However, nixoderm tin is made with a soothing emollient base. This makes it more comfortable to the skin but very visible to the eyes with odor from the sulfur. No wonder the price of the tin is cheaper even though it is 17.7g as against the 15g of the tube.

How To Use Nixoderm

Both tube and tin are used the same way. But because of the side effect, most people prefer to use the tube on their body morning and night because it leaves no trace and has no odor, using nixoderm tin over the body will lead to smelling clothes. Those that go for nixoderm tin use it only at night and are more suitable for the face as it has a soothing effect. The tube is too harsh for soft skin like the face.

From the manufacturer, bath affected parts in soap and warm water with mild or toilet soap.  Apply nixoderm liberally night and morning. Then rub in gently. For delicate skin, dilute with petroleum jelly.
