Amatem forte tablet and softgel is a malaria drug containing artemether (80 mg) and lumefantrine (480 mg). It is marketed by Elbe pharma Nigeria LTD but made by olive healthcare in India. Both are packaged in a pack containing a sachet with 6 tablets or softgel.

Difference Between Amatem Forte Tablet And Amatem Forte Softgel
The main difference between amatem forte tablet and amatem forte softgel is the manufacturing process. Tablets are commonly manufactured by wet granulation, dry granulation or direct compression. On the other hand, softgel is not easily prepared except on a large scale and with specialized equipment, an expensive dosage form. Softgel shells are a combination of gelatin, water, opacifier and a plasticiser such as glycerin or sorbitol.

Improved bioavailability of Amatem forte softgel makes it more present in the bloodstream than the tablets. The implication is that Amatem Softgel has a faster onset of action and is more efficacious than tablets formulation.
