Can You Pee After Inserting Canesten Pessary
I get this question a lot. The question is not very straightforward. Canesten insertion does not prevent you from peeing. So you can pee after inserting canesten pessary.
But you should not pee immediately after inserting canesten pessary. Although the urethra is outside or front of the vagina, some of the urine will go inside the vagina. This can dissolve the canesten pessary and make it too watery. The drug can start to melt too fast and leak out.

It takes about 15 minutes for the canesten pessary to dissolve and another 45 to be absorbed. Within this hour, it is recommended that you should stay off peeing. To avoid a situation like holding your urine just because of an insert, do well to pee before insertion. This will prevent the urge from coming within an hour of insert.
