Cyproheptadine Cause Infertility In Men Or Women
Cyproheptadine is a first-generation antihistamine with additional anticholinergic, antiserotonergic, and local anesthetic properties. It is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

Cyproheptadine is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in weight gain products. This is because one of the side effects include appetite stimulants and drowsiness. Both contribute to weight gain.

Can Cyproheptadine Cause Infertility
Infertility is a disease of the male or female reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. There are many causes. But no one should suspect or put the blame on cyproheptadine.
There is no record of infertility link to cyproheptadine use by male or female. Logically, it can lead to erectile dysfunction. One of the side effects is nervousness. Nervousness can lead to anxiety which is one of the main causes of erectile dysfunction in men.

But, the link is too thin. We can't just draw conclusions from that. Cyproheptadine cannot cause infertility in male and female.
