Lipton tea and top tea are two popular tea brands in Nigeria. They make up more than half of all sales. Both brands have different types of tea to serve different people.

The Lipton Yellow Label Tea is an age-long tea brand manufactured by Unilever plc. Top Tea is another age-long-popular brand that is packaged by Promasidor Limited.
Packaging
Lipton tea has a net weight of 50g with 25 bags in it. The tea bags come as loose tea, rolled into small balls like gunpowder green tea. The pack is yellow with the lipton badge.
Top Tea has a net weight of 47.5g with 25 bags. The Top tea comes in the form of big round tea bags. The pack is red with top tea signature logo.

Composition
Lipton Yellow Tea is made from the processed leaves of the plant Camellia sinensis. It also contains polyphenols. Lipton Tea contains 6.88 mg of caffeine per fl oz (23.25 mg per 100 ml). A 8 fl oz cup has a total of 55 mg of caffeine.
Top tea is made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis and also has ginger flavor. Top Tea contains 100% black tea which is a type of tea that has undergone more oxidation (chemical reactions) than other types of tea, such as green teas. Top Tea contains an antioxidant called theanine. The caffeine content is less than 50 mg in a cup of top tea.
