So many pharmacists make money from working in different fields or professions. Alternate career paths like blogging are not of interest to many because they feel they are not profitable. The major reason is that they don't know the value of a personal pharmacy health blog.

A pharmacist can create any type of blog. And they can make money from it. But creating a health blog or more specifically a pharmacy blog has more advantages than creating a blog with other niches.

A pharmacist with a health blog can use that blog to advertise his or her own personal product. Most of the people coming to the blog are either pharmacists or those interested in health and medicine. So showing them pharmaceutical products or services will convert to sales. Let's say you decide to go into importation or production of pharmaceutical products or rendering a pharmaceutical service, your blog is an easy way to market yourself.

If you don't have a product or service, your blog is an avenue for others with products and services to advertise. You can build your blog to that level. Go to the pharmacist council of Nigeria (PCN) office for the list of registered pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria and their contact. Send out a bulk message to all of them explaining why your blog is the best to market their product. Many will not reply. Pick those that did not and send out another message after two weeks as a gentle reminder.

If you don't have a pharmaceutical product and service and nobody has for you, you can make cool cash from third party ads networks like adsense. They collect ads requests from businesses and place them on your blog. The amount they will pay you depends on many factors from the size of the ads, the type of ads, the bid type, the location of the person clicking or viewing, the device type and many more. This is by far the easiest means of making money from a pharmacist blog without much stress. But the money at the initial start is small. And the very best ads networks are hard to register with. Some require the blog to be big and popular before accepting such blogs.

This post will not be complete if I fail to mention affiliate marketing. Now that is a cool way of making money with a health blog. You write about the benefits of a product. If you have first hand experience, include it. Go to an e-commerce website. Register with them. Copy their ads code and place it on the blog. When readers like the product and make a purchase using your code from the e-commerce website, you get paid. And do you know what? Heath products get higher commission than other classes of products. So many health bloggers make a fortune from this.

There is another way health bloggers make their money. Sponsored post. Before you will get access to sponsored posts, there are two things. It is either your blog has a lot of traffic or you are very good at writing. The writing itself comes with a different pay and posting a sponsored post on your blog carried another. Most multilevel marketing companies in Nigeria use this method a lot.

Domain flipping is the last thing that should come to your mind. You can create a blog, make it popular and sell to the highest bidder. If I want to sell a drugxpert blog today, the starting bid will be high. And most companies willing to pay will be mostly pharmaceutical industry. They will redirect all my traffic back to their blog or use my content to promote their own products.

Having a medical blog that is popular exposes you to job opportunities. Employers already have a glimpse of what you can offer. And you can also get called for presentations which can only get better. You get paid. That is better they see you as an authority. They don't need to ask people. Your blog confirms it.

Look at the popular pharmacist blogs in Nigeria and how they make their money. Pharmanewsonline.com had ads for many pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria. Example is Elbe company. And the owner, pa Ifeanyi Atueye is a public speaker going from one conference to the other making presentations. His presentation I attended he spoke a little about his success story. Without mincing words, his hotel, flight tickets, food, etc must be paid even if he wants to do it free. Paying for the speech is another bill entirely.

Pharmatimes.com.ng focuses on using their blog in advertising all the products they import. And they display them using banner ads and sponsored posts. Drugxpert.blogspot.com uses third party ads called Google AdSense, few affiliate ads, few sponsored post and promoting my own e-book.
