ABUAD pharmacy degree programme
ABUAD school

Afe Babalola university (ABUAD) is a private university located in ado-ekiti, Ekiti state. It was established in 2009 by Aare Afe Babalola. The university stretches through across 130 hectares of land at an altitude of over 1500 feet above sea level.
ABUAD operates a collegiate school. It currently runs five colleges including college of medicine and health science where we have the faculty of pharmacy.

Vision Of ABUAD

In accordance with the broader vision of the university, the international relations and diplomacy programme aims:

To be the leading center for the production of world class scholarship and practice in international relations and diplomacy.

Mission Of ABUAD

To produce expert graduates of international relations and diplomacy able to succeed in diplomatic careers, in academia and professions in administration, strategy and security and other fields.

Faculty Of Pharmacy

The Faculty of Pharmacy in ABUAD was founded in 2019. It is a six years doctor of pharmacy (Pharm D) programme. It was yet to begin full operation before the disruption of school activities. However, pharmacy aspirants who wish to go for ABUAD will find the little information here helpful.

Pre-degree

The university runs a pre-degree programme. This is a nine months programme for aspirants who wish to study in ABUAD. Admission requirements include five O'Level credit passes in English language, physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics in not more than a sitting.

Application into the programme is done online. All applicants must also apply for the joint admission and matriculation examination (JAMB) unitary tertiary matriculation examination (UTME). There is automatic admission into a degree programme through the pre-degree programme to all those who wrote ABUAD post UTME and did not get it through the post UTME.

Application form is 10500 naira. Was not able to get my hand on the school fees and acceptance fees. However, school fees can be paid two times. Expect the acceptance fee to be between 50000 naira and school fees into about 100000 naira only.

At the end of each year, successful applicants will be admitted into a degree programme. Then, they are to begin registration into the degree programme. Admission is into year one.

Post UTME

Applicants willing to join ABUAD will have to write JAMB UTME. Just like other private universities, applicants who did not choose ABUAD can apply to the school. But that will require a different process. Also, they consider both the second and first choice.

Applicants must have gotten five credit passes in O'level including English language, physics, biology, chemistry and mathematics. The cut off mark for post UTME for pharmacy is 200. Application for post UTME in ABUAD cost 2000 naira while the screening fee is 5000 naira.

Candidates who did not choose ABUAD in JAMB will have to pay for change of institution in JAMB at your own cost. The ABUAD application for post UTME with change of institution is 10500 naira and change of institution fee is 3500 naira.

The post UTME consists of oral interviews by a member of the university. The questions are straight forward and not mainly educational. But with the covid-19 on the horizon, the screening process was taken online. However, I am not very sure about the questions. Questions are multiple choice. However, admission is into year one.

Direct Entry (DE)

They accept direct entry. The school ran a Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for twelve months. The application form is 10500 naira only. Was not sure of the acceptance and school fees. However, expect it to be high.

They also accept interim joint matriculation board (IJMB) and Cambridge university results for DE. This is in addition to application from first degree and higher national diploma (HND).

Application for DE is the same with transfer students which is 10500 naira. Admission is into year two.

Pharmacy Programme

If an applicant is given an admission into this prestigious university, pharmacy students are to go for a second screening. After which, they are to pay an acceptance fee of 50000 naira. For now, the school fees are not very clear. It seems that they will pay the same school fees with nursing and other medical students except medicine and surgery.

The school fees for Freshers is about 850000 naira payable once. This is unlike other departments that can pay their school fees in two installments of 50 percent each. The explanation from the university is that the high demand for these courses made it make that decision. Failure to pay the fees on time will lead to automatic loss of admission and will be given to somebody else. Those who gain admission into year two through DE will have to pay for acceptance and other expenses accrued in year one.

Year two school fees is 797000 naira while that of year three and four is 736000 naira only. School fees for year five and six are currently not yet available but expect it to be in the high side just like in other universities.

Other fees to be paid are PTFC levey of 20000 naira and mandatory ABUAD souvenir of 45000 naira.

Pharmacy students have to buy their approved dress code. The did if dressing is shades of red and pink on matching colours.

Accommodation

ABUAD provides accommodation for all its students. Choice of accommodation depends on the students in question and closeness to lecture halls. The following are the halls of residence and their fees.

1. Four men room goes for 200000 naira a year

2. Two men room goes for 400000 naira a year

3. One man room is 450000 naira only

4. Super deluxe four men room (females only) goes for 400000 naira only

5. Super deluxe two men room goes for 500000 naira only

6. Super deluxe one man room is 800000 naira only

There is no postgraduate programme yet.

    1. This year JAMB UTME result is generally poor. Most schools have reduce their cut off mark. She may be admitted if the school uses a low cut off mark below what she scored and pass her other interviews. Best of luck

Hello. The tuition fee for pharmacy in Abuad is not correct as you stated above. ABUAD pharmacy fees is 2.3 million naira, including accommodation, it’s 2,617,500 naira. That’s far from what you have stated. Pharmacy school fees is over 2.6 million. Medicine is I’ve 4.5 million naira. Please correct this. I can make screenshots of the tuition fees available for you if you need it. Your information is false.
