Learn NYSC Anthem Lyrics And The Pledge Before Going For Camp

As you prepare for service, there is one thing you must know. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have an anthem. This anthem have different stanzas. The anthem is to be recited by all prospective corps members throughout the period of orientation. If you don't know it, it will be difficult to sing along.
The first stanza is what is needed to be recited at the different camp activities. It is recited at almost every official activity throughout camp. Although, it may no longer be needed after camp. During recitation, it is expected that all PCM must stand at attention, face upright, NYSC cap on and sing along.

The pledge is not really needed. However, every PCM must sign both the Nigerian pledge and that of NYSC. Without signing it, you will not be allowed in the camp.
In this post, I bring together the national anthem lyrics, the national pledge which must be sign, the NYSC anthem lyrics and the NYSC pledge which must also be sign by PCM. The second stanza of the national anthem is referred to as the national prayer. Learn it and master it. You can download the audio from other blogs.

National Anthem

Stanza 1

Arise, O Compatriots,
Nigeria’s call obey,
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith,
The labour of our heroes past,
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might,
One nation bound in freedom,
Peace and Unity.

Stanza 2 (National Prayer)

O God of creation,
Direct our noble cause,
Guide our leaders right;
Help, our youths the truth to know,
In love and honesty to grow,
And living just and true;
Great lofty heights attain,
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

National Pledge
