Can You Pee After Inserting Clotrimazole

I get this question a lot. The question is not very straightforward. Clotrimazole insertion does not prevent you from peeing. So you can pee after inserting clotrimazole.

But you should not pee immediately after insertion. Although the urethra is outside or front of the vagina, some of the urine will go inside the vagina. This can dissolve the clotrimazole too fast and make it too watery. The drug can start leaking out.

It takes about 15 minutes for the clotrimazole tablet to dissolve and another 45 to be absorbed. Within this hour, it is recommended that you should stay off peeing.

To avoid a situation like holding your using just because of an insert, do well to pee before insertion. This will prevent the urge from coming within an hour of insert.
